Original Title: USB Card reader driver. I have a SD card reader and my DELL ONE does not recognize it. Windows updater doesn't either. I get a 'cannot fix this' type of message.

1) Did you try connecting to other USB ports or in other computers?
2) What is the status of this device in device manager? Check if there is a yellow sign or any error code.
3) What is the make and model of the Card reader?
4) Is the issue specific to the Card reader or other USB devices?

Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

Update the Card Reader Driver:
Follow these steps to update the driver.
a) Press Windows key + X key and click on Device manager.
b) Search for the Card Reader Driver and expand it.

Uninstall and Reinstall in Windows 7 compatibility mode:
Step 1: Uninstall the Card Reader driver from Device Manager.
Follow the steps to uninstall the Card Reader.
a) Press Windows Key + X and then click Device Manger.
b) Search for Card Reader driver and expand it.
c) Right click on the driver and select Uninstall.
d) Follow the prompt and restart the computer.
Step 2: Install the driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode:
Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode.
a) Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
b) Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
c) Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK.
d) Try installing the driver and check.
